League Station Battlezone Twenty-Three.
Seeing as dedicated television units didn't really exist in space, or at least, League space, Barzenta had to go ahead and use one of those computers instead. Through enough fumbling he would eventually be able to get to something worth looking at.
Horra.
It was along the lines of certainty that at least some of the Guards' limited manpower, and likely all of it, would have to be devoted to keeping the masses of civilians rescued from losing their minds at the sight of Coalition forces. The civilians would trust food or a needle from one of their own a hell of a lot more given the dire trauma they're undergoing.
The role of support may only be the second most important role in a warzone, but it was a role the Guards were willing to fulfill in full to ensure that the Liberation proceeded without incident.

-Ikara- The diplomat just took a slight grin and a slight nod of his head, stating "Thank you then" with that he begun to move to move towards the building. Adding as he walked "I take from your reactions you weren't expecting me to speak your tongue? As I know it would be rather improper if a diplomat couldn't speak to those they are suppose to negotiate with." There was a slight tone to his voice that rather clearly betrayed some sense of ego, which seemed only exemplified by how his wings shifted slightly to push the outermost primary feathers into a more prominent position. -Que- >Construction 2x Ta'Malr Farseer Platforms (68/175) 1x Ta'Malr Farseer Platform (14/175) 55x Black Sky Pattern Mining Outpost (35/45) 12x Sak'Harl Platforms (33/50) >Shipyards Fi'Zoris (46/56) >Research Torpedo Design (9/45) Enhanced Combat Exoskeletons (24/25)

The IFFS corvettes are called back for the time being as the Arthan and Federation troops approach the city's heart, primarily to regroup with the other IFFS corvettes as well as the Arthan Hovercraft. Before any attempt is made to push the center of the city, what is likely to be the most heavily defended location, the Arthan Tanks would remain back as several small squadrons are sent forward to attempt to locate the enemy's positions, once they have been located the corvettes and hovercraft would be set to begin strike runs, taking advantage of projection shields on several of the corvettes while the ground forces move in from below.

[Marble]The Warden’s offer had not been accepted. A shame, it thought, closing on the periapsis of its trajectory. It was difficult to find worthy souls among the dead and forsaken. So close it had been, those many years ago. Yet none of those it had spoken to seemed to accept the logic of its words. Civilization seemed doomed. Fallen to the corruption of selfish thought, tearing itself apart with conflicting morals. And in the ashes of civilization, these narcissists dared to create mockeries of the paradise they had destroyed. Their machines aided them now, scouring the wastes for useful material. Already they had begun construction of fortresses and keeps. The Warden decelerated, just enough that its periapsis sank into the atmosphere. It flipped to face prograde again, completing the maneuver just before flames began to lick its hull. The offer was repeated once again. -Achol-
Proponents of efficient, clean operations, the only Midyan squads involved in the strike at the CIC would be those who had boarded with the explicit purpose of participating in the strike. A full advance through the ship would cause too much confusion and push the front line to where the surgical strike squads were operating. The squads took places around the CIC entrance, as one marine prepared to breach. The Zealot ship was about to fall. "Squads SK-1 through SK-4 in position. Preparing entrance into enemy command center." The report, psionically transmitted by an attached war-priest, quickly made it to Ocelocali by more conventional channels. She began to think of what the navy would do with such a large vessel in their hands. It would surely be refit and serve as the core of further effort against the Zealots.
The charge was set, and detonated, showering the interior of the CIC with red-hot metal fragments. They were quickly followed by flashbangs, and a withering sheet of slugs and assault rifle rounds to neutralize any Zealots caught in and around the door. From then on, the pressure was on. The squads had to prevent the Zealot commanders from doing anything irresponsible, avoid setting off any booby traps set in the room, and ensure that the entire battlecruiser did not go up in nuclear fire from the key turn and button press of a panicking Zealot officer.
-Pelendo-
"No, no you haven't. I'm surprised myself! I'd assumed you had told me earlier, and I was embarrassed I had forgotten." Itoyah pushed himself away from the viewing window, and grasped a railing to orient himself for any future movement. "Come to think of it, I don't think I was told the name of your civilization either." He thought about what had been discussed further. "No names at all come to mind. Your species, civilization, nothing but yours, Kazitan."
-Gasmon-
Well, that was a welcome surprise. It had been paranoid, depressing system governments until this point. The eagerness of this local government was promising. Perhaps he was on track towards the center of the former Fenelis Empire. "I am Captain Teyolatl, of the Celestial Republic of Xochima. I originally came to this region of Verion on a general mission of xenoarchaeology, but I was surprised to find the still living remnants of a civilization. This civilization, of course, is the Fenelis Empire; which I suspect you were originally part of. Now I trace these remnants closer and closer to the core of the former Empire. Judging by the prosperity of this system," he paused to achieve a dramatic beat, "it appears I'm getting closer." It was only until after Teyolatl had sent his introduction that he realized that the inhabitants of the system were not just warm and eager, but actively inviting new contacts. He had not had the chance to transmit the identification codes he received before he was contacted.
=Saji=
The Arthans were greeted by a collection of Saji of various shapes and sizes, all armed and standing silent. Each individual was slightly different, showing evidence of heavy cybernetic modification. The most obvious candidates had a second set of arms, replaced limbs, or a combination of the two. In others, the modifications were equally as expansive but less obvious. Mechanical irises focused on the Arthan party, and deep brain implants were shielded by hexagonal patterns of dermal implants. The largest contrast between the two groups was that the Saji had their weapons raised, as the Arthans had theirs lowered. Akgata, recognizable by his two sets of carbon fiber decorated arms, stood at the front of the Saji ranks. He spoke to his companions. "Et-ka-op-it-sha-nam-shu-ta-la-ba." Here are the Barbarians. "Ga-ra-la-sh-no-hat-dra-kan-shu kol-ja-ak-ta-po-nal-rav." Weapons stay raised, make them fear us.
The spaceborne Saji soldier continued his slow drift towards one of the Arthan ships. He had nodded off, starting his standard sleep cycle. He still had hours to go.

"I honestly didn't know if your race was ever capable of speaking Trairish," the Draian admitted as they walked, "but I imagine that your fluency will certainly make things much easier going forward. Even the best translators can sometimes make mistakes." When they reached the terminal the Vantash and Draian would lead them to a set of double doors, a single security officer stood to one side, merely nodding to the party as they passed through. After a short walk through a boarding passage they would turn off into what seemed to be the office section of the port, a large lobby with several office doors visible along the outside edge, though they would only make for one of them. As they approached the opaque glass doors several Vantash, Draian and Sokana in dark suits earpieces could be seen throughout the complex, the Federation's equivalent of the Secret Service. When the reached the office two Sokana would be standing on either side of the doorway, shades concealing their eyes, opening the door they merely watched as the party entered the room. Inside 2 Vantash, a Sokana and 3 Draian in suits would be waiting, several of them talking to one another, a few sitting at the table as if thinking, upon seeing them enter, one of the Draian would step forward, baring his chin to the Ra'Noth, "Welcome!" he said, "Thank you for coming."

Hegrad's gaze quickly swept the group of Saji, taking a breath he slowly took a step forward, motioning to Tiron and Vivi to remain where they were. Keeping his hands visible, and empty he stepped into the Saji corvette, watching the Saji who had spoken closely, a small notification popped up on the bottom left of his HUD, but he ignored it, the recording of the Saji's words had just been transmitted back to the Arthan ship to help with the translation. Making sure his movements were slow and non-threatening, Hegrad placed one of his four hands on his chest, saying "Arthan." he pointed to Tiron and Vivi saying "Arthan" for each of them. It wasn't much, but it was a start.

Akgata gestured with his weapon, pointing at the Arthans and then down the hall. "Ar-than," he repeated, and then uttered another stream of syllables. Two Saji came forwards, weapons drawn, and took positions on either side of Hegrad. They glared at him, and Akgata watched, expectantly. His weapon was still pointed down the hallway. It looked like a bizarre camera, with a series of slots cut into the side of the barrel leading to not an opening, but a lens. Each of the other Saji carried an identical weapon. Akgata turned his gaze to the other two Arthans who had not yet left the shuttle, and again gestured. He wanted everyone out.

Hegrad glanced at the two Saji on either side of him, his mind started racing as Akgata motioned for Tiron and Vivi to leave the shuttle, he had been hoping they would have been able to remain close to their transportation, but obviously these aliens had other ideas. "Stay where you are." he said to Tiron and Vivi before turning back to Akgata, he pointed to Tiron and Vivi, shaking his head once for each, then, pointing to himself, he nodded before slowly walking down the corridor Akgata was pointing. Hopefully that would get his meaning across, while he didn't like the idea of going into the depths of this alien ship alone, but he wasn't going to just leave the shuttle unguarded. There were a few more Arthans on board, but they just the pilot and 2 others, they had come in good faith, not to fight.

-Battle bridge of the [Justicar]-
"Cut thrust, we already far outstrip them. They're not going to get away." The uncomfortable pressure of the inertial dampening system faded away as thrust was cut. "Get us close," Orii growled lowly. "Close enough to hang out of the hatches and shoot them with small arms."
"16,000 and closing, sir," chirped one of the bridge crew. The admiral ground his teeth. This is taking too damn long. I'm going to make that fucker burn for the humiliation.
-Bridge of the Eui Ou-
The emergency lights slowly flickered to life, dim and red and far from comforting for the wounded and dying that drifted listlessly through the halls of the vessel. The water carried the taste of copper upon it, scattering wisps of red-brown. A unanimous groan of pain and despair softly hummed through the ship.
Captain Wou regained consciousness, desperately pumping water through his lungs. In return, he pumped out ichor with every breath, clouding the water around him. He pulled himself to the handset of the PA system and croaked out commands and exhortations to a battered crew to save their broken ship. Those who were living pushed their way through the floating corpses of those who were not. Damage control teams came back to their senses from their shell-shocked states and moved to seal the great wound in the ship before hydrosphere boiled off.

-Ikara- The diplomat would give a slight head bow as he entered into the room, saying "Thank you for the welcome, it's a pleasure to be here." he would move to pull the briefcase from his side to have it more readily available, stating "I will preface the trade discussions with some clear intent from Ka'Sorin command. That is, I must regretfully inform that they do not wish to engage in a militaristic trade, but have presented me the authority for matters involving that of civilian trade. I hope you can understand this limitation given the current political environment in the cluster." The diplomat had their wings lowered down a little to cover their sides better, yet he spoke with a rather sharp tone and made sure to shift his gaze around the room as he talked. -Que- >Construction 2x Ta'Malr Farseer Platforms (69/175) 1x Ta'Malr Farseer Platform (15/175) 55x Black Sky Pattern Mining Outpost (36/45) 12x Sak'Harl Platforms (34/50) >Shipyards Fi'Zoris (47/56) >Research Torpedo Design (10/45) Enhanced Combat Exoskeletons (25/25) [Completed]

"Of course," the Draian replied, quickly switching off his translator as he realized the Ra'Noth's apparent comfort in using Trairish. "but where are my manners? My name is Fredrin Carluz, I am one of the Senators from Vaal and Chancellor Galvas has asked me to preside over this meeting and he also asked me to convey his greetings as well as his regret that he was unable to meet you in person, but given the current political environment, he was otherwise predispose." Fredrin's pronunciation was very clearly over the top, though it was hard to tell, even for native speakers of the language if he was doing it on purpose. Sweeping his arm back towards the others in the room Fredrin said, "May I introduce Messrs Olian, Vadrick, and Tiva," motioning to the Sokana and two Vantash, "and Misses Xioli and Drectavi." indicating the two other Draian, "They are here on behalf of the six largest civilian manufacturing, production and service companies within the Federation."

Deep within the Amakilir system, close to one of the largest asteroids in the inner belt several shipyards and 3 frigates slowly drifted through space, soldiers and crew members going along their daily routine. Without any further interference Barzenta would eventually start to get back into a more mundane routine, as mundane as his abilities permitted at least. His day to day focus would shift to keeping the refugees in relatively good spirits as the Liberation progressed elsewhere.
Astrakhan Orbit.
With Imperial security coming more and more into fruition through the minting of the Colonial Watch and the construction of star fortresses throughout the Core Worlds, and with reports that Horra will soon be liberated, the Emperor decides it is time for the Navy to begin looking deeper into the frontiers past the Border Worlds. Tangible, fertile worlds needed to be claimed in order to ensure the post-reform Empire could maintain its standing list of Diet members (not to mention the glaring need to further spread the Corrundian diaspora), and any threats or boons other than the far away invaders needed to be assessed. To that end, a carrier task force would be assembled for this task.
Its first stop would be Evris, which had gained some attention due to previous contacts encountered by the merchant fleet and the Watch. Local forces there would see to ensuring the task force was fit for the expedition it was about to undertake.

Their physiology bore some mechanical likeness to yours and that of your compatriots, if significantly less robust.” “For all meaningful sense, our ancestral species is extinct now. What an honor you will all have; the first natural life to set foot on Orisial.” Senara looked outwards. Inversion had occurred a few minutes prior, and the cab was decelerating. On a nearby strand a section of a starship shot by, hurtling towards the station above for assembly. “The elevator will reach the surface shortly. Please enjoy the view during the final descent. Orisial is one of the few Communate worlds with a full atmosphere, and it produces a deep blue hue during the day. The capital city, Utatial, has a skyline designed to blend beautifully with the horizon, especially during sunset.” “I have to say, I find it strange that you considered my existence, or the existence of my kind, so unlikely. Your civilization is quite advanced. Indeed, our physics cannot explain several phenomena exhibited by your starships. Of equal surprise to me is that, with such technology, you have not created any artificial beings.” "At the least, your kind must have works of fiction, no? We have some very large cruise liners, so dreadnought yards wouldn't be the biggest spaceyards in our territory. But anyway, the yards are in Pakal Tir, our home system." Highly automated, they only carry a command crew because they are expected to operate as singletons or small squadrons on independent missions and the new technology of AI is not fully trusted outside the supervision of the fleet. HKZ-008 RELENTLESS, ÆO AURU"Cruisers now at 16,000KM" reported the sensor officer. "Thrust plumes are fading, they appear to have throttled down... confirmed, they have ceased acceleration." Cara'Fal didn't bother to acknowledge the update. It was worth knowing but hardly urgent, and he had other considerations. Those cruisers were heading straight for Relentless, and were currently in a stern chase. They were catching up, and their acceleration profile showed they could keep his vessel in weapons range for as long as they wanted, if they could get into it. They could escape by tac-jump, but from the perspective of the mission he had set himself, that might as well be a loss. He wanted to get a sense of their general capability, their tactical finesse. He couldn't do that if he just jumped away at the first sign that he might actually lose the battle. If there was an alternative, he wanted to use it. "Navigation," he said once he had an idea of what to do, "if the cruisers reach 2,000KM, I want you to put us in full forward thrust." Right now, Relentless was effectively flying backwards, as the Spaceglider Commander could tell by the way he felt like he was hanging upside down from a ceiling. Throwing all forward thrusters on would immediately change the relative velocity between the Hunter-Killer and the cruisers from moderate to very high. There were risks involved - the enemy's projectile weapons would be even more damaging if they hit and the SCAR would be less effective at deflecting them. But it should absolutely slash the time spent in the enemy's weapons range. The enemy couldn't match the rapidity of the deceleration, with their reliance on RCS to change heading. And once Relentless was past the enemy vessel, they'd be back to a stern chase. The only issue was that he'd be putting his vessel between the cruisers and the destroyers. Whether that was an opportunity to defeat the enemy in detail or for the enemy to smash him between hammer and anvil was a bridge he'd cross when he got to it.

"Certainly," Fredrin said, "well, I'm not sure how familiar you are with how our economy works, but we try to encourage individual success and enterprise, and the best way we've found to do that is through competition. Not only would trade between our factions introduce new luxuries and commodities, but it would encourage industrial growth, especially on new colonies. And in terms of direct profit, it's quite likely that there are manufactured goods or computer parts that we can produce more efficiently and cheaply than your industry might be able to and vice versa." "Okay, well, I'll see what else sells here," responded Eren. Unstable neurological reaction? he thought to himself. That was the entire point of the psychedelics he had brought. These Ra-Noth were a strange bunch. Walking away from the officer, Eren quickly connected the Ra-Noth physiology to the comment about free roaming pets. Perhaps the Ra-Noth were more savage than he had first thought. Media would be hard to push on them if they're still eating anything that walks by and can't fight back. The textiles would do fine though, even a tribesman could appreciate comfortable fiber and a geometric pattern. It was finally time to head to the merchant level and start unloading his goods.

Akgata followed Hegrad, keeping close to his side and setting a quick walking pace. He made sharp, guttural noises and prodded Hegrad in whatever direction he was meant to go. Soon, Akgata had herded Hegrad to the ship's command center. Akgata walked in front of a console, said something to no one in particular, a synthesized voice filled the room, and several displays turned on. Hegrad would notice the command center was very sparse personnel wise. One or two other Saji eyed him with contempt, as Akgata continued his conversation with the synthesized voice.
Akgata, of course, was communicating with the ship's AI. "Photograph myself and the barbarian." He pointed his weapon at Hegrad, and the AI took a picture. Akgata lowered his weapon. "Are you able to construct a series of visual instructions with what you've gathered so far?" "I do believe so," came the response from the AI. "Good. Make it clear that we wish to trade the life of this.. official, and whatever crew they have on their shuttle, for one of their ships." The AI got to work translating Akgata's request into a series of understandable images. The opening image was that of Akgata with his weapon aimed at Hegrad. The next shifted to a field black field, overlaid with several triangles. Three large ones, representing Arthan ships, three smaller ones, representing Saji vessels, and a single tiny triangle connected to one of the Saji vessels, representing the docked shuttle. An image of each species was put alongside their corresponding ships. The Arthan displayed on one of the Arthan ships vacated it, digitally dragged to another. Next, a Saji was dragged into the now empty Arthan ship-triangle. Afterwards, the Arthan in the docked shuttle was dragged to a free Arthan ship. The AI hoped it was clear enough.

-Ikara- Fisar gave a slight nod, saying "Our own economy works largely off a free market, Corporations are fairly unrestricted in development with the main sanctions being regulations enacted by the various regions. Presently most efforts are focused towards military development, Understandable given the situation. I will somewhat admit that the idea of support for developing colonies is enticing, How easily would your people be able to extend operations to colonies within our region?" A passing though he held though was ~Assuming of course command would permit trade vessels to sites other than Arkedeer~ -Arkedeer- On the merchant level things seemed to actually be in a fair bit of noise and commotion, most of the level was built like some awkward combination of a mall and a warehouse, various areas sectioned off for specific trade groups and even a few workshops were present on this level. It seemed the main source of commotion going on was some sort of contract auction center, a group of miners auctioning off the rites to the resources of asteroids in the Arkedeer system. The signs around the level unfortunately weren't changing for Eren, keeping to the Ra-noth's written dialect due to the large number of ra-noth present, although a few signs weren't digital at all and written in what likely was the native Arkedeerian language. Specificly because on this level Eren could actually catch sight of some of the natives people of the system, the Vorak and Geryikan. [Edit] There would be only some delay before the AI would finally reappear to Eren again, it was somewhat hard to hear what it was saying over the general noise but still manageable. "If you are here to meet with any merchants, I can alert the prior interested parties to meet you here. If you need guidance on what to do or where to go on this level, please feel free to ask. I am afraid I am unable to do anything for the signs as they are adapted to the majority currently." -Que- >Construction 2x Ta'Malr Farseer Platforms (71/175) 1x Ta'Malr Farseer Platform (17/175) 55x Black Sky Pattern Mining Outpost (38/45) 12x Sak'Harl Platforms (36/50) >Shipyards Fi'Zoris (49/56) >Research Torpedo Design (12/45) Powered Armor units (2/30)

"Well," Fredrin said, clasping his hands in front of him, "we already have a large trade fleet in service which delivers goods from one end of Federation space to the other on a regular basis. So, assuming most of your colonies are a similar distance from here as Arkedeer, it should be quite easy to extend trade routes to your space, all our trade ships are unarmed freighters, though we do usually send a cruiser along for security purposes." after pausing for a moment he added, "But I'm sure we'll be able to negotiate other arrangements if that is a problem."

Hegrad's heart began beating faster as he watched the digitized images, their meaning was clear enough, they considered him a hostage and they wanted one of the Arthan frigates in exchange for his life. Fumbling slightly he pulled a small handheld hologram projector from a pouch on his leg, at the moment it was the only way they had to communicate. Speaking quickly to the pilot of the shuttle he arrived in he relayed the message he wanted to be displayed, it was a roundabout way of communication, but the small device in his hand wasn't made for ease of use on its own. After a few minutes the hologram projector powered up, displaying two rows of images each of which would loop every few seconds, on the first row, was a digitization of Akgata with his gun aimed at Hegrad and firing with Hegrad collapsing onto the ground. Connected to it by an arrow was a similar image to the one the Saji had shown, however, it would show small dots shooting at the Saji vessels which would blink out. The second row would have Akgata lowering his gun from pointing at Hegrad, connected to representation of the ships with the shuttle returning to the Arthan ship, this would be connected to the final image which would show the 3 Arthan frigates leaving the system.

-Ikara- "The only reason other arrangements would be required depends on if security clearance could be given by Ka'Sorin command..." Fisar paused for a moment before adding "Though I would advise for any initial trade deal, that merchant traffic be directed to Arkedeer, at least until proper clearance can be assured. in which case, if your freighters are suitably sound of construction, they would be permitted usage of our gate network to destination" Fisar finally pushed a button on the briefcase, flipping it open completely as a hologram came up displaying a civilian industrial exoskeleton, with him stating "I will of course share a little of what our own industry can offer, and This is by no means military equipment, but we are well capable of mass production for various civilian geared exoskeletons. Be it from construction work to emergency services or even simple agricultural applications. Just as something to perhaps open discussions on how this trade agreement should be defined" -Que- >Construction 2x Ta'Malr Farseer Platforms (72/175) 1x Ta'Malr Farseer Platform (18/175) 55x Black Sky Pattern Mining Outpost (39/45) 12x Sak'Harl Platforms (37/50) >Shipyards Fi'Zoris (50/56) >Research Torpedo Design (13/45) Powered Armor units (3/30)

Aboard the bridge of the Third Carrier Task Force's command cruiser, a man sits in the command chair, waiting and monitoring the finalization of fleet preparation. An officer approaches from behind, and informs him that the task force's preparations are complete for the exploratory mission. After sending the officer on his way, he reviews his orders, a full sweep of the star systems up to the near edge of the Verion Nebula, eventually to return to Anza for resupply. Everything was set, and the Task Force would depart upon its mission immediately. R&D. In true Imperial fashion it is found that certain lines of AGI combat integration research are in fact complete and total dead-ends. The excess funding sent to those projects is directed towards new forms of kinetic armor, both for Navy/Watch ships, and marine detachments. A concept revolving around "smart magnetic fluid armor" has shown much promise (roughly a ten percent improvement over current composite plates), and has already gained the seal of approval from Navy command. With such support towards this project it is expected this new armor technology will be available almost immediately.

"Exoskeletons you say?" Tiva said, leaning closer to the hologram projector, "I know the Ith used to use exoskeletons to enhance their troops, one of my assistants actually got to see several of their newer models before the Talestai Federation was destroyed. But those were for military purposes, I didn't think they were practical for civilian mass production though."
Arlia kept her head clasped in her hands, trying to keep her nausea though she still looked quite green all the same, "Well," Tion said as Ishtar looked out the window at the starport, "I for one would like to know what kind of governing system your people act under, the Interstellar Federation, for instance, is a Democratic Republic." Tion was primarily curious to hear how sentient AI chose to govern themselves, if they governed at all.

The battle for the Belt Manufacturing Base didn't last very long, the three RCR frigates were quickly disabled without any major damage done to the LRM and MRK fleet, and once they were without ship support the soldiers on board the shipyards quickly surrendered. Leaving 4 frigates behind as a defensive force to keep the shipyards from just being retaken, the rest of the Magnara fleet would restock at the shipyards, waiting for the signal from Magnara to move on to assault Regrinor.

The 500 Main Battle Tanks, 220 of the Infantry Fighting Vehicles and 100 Armoured Fighting Vehicles rolled out of the LAN encampment. They were soon followed by one of the battlehovercraft that would be acting as an artillery platform and mobile command post for the force. Following behind the behemoth machine would be 80,000 Groundforce troops. 20,000 were remaining in the camp for now, to act as reserves. "You, get me a hot drink. And you, get a comms link to the birdies' command vessel ASAP." the general ordered. He knew that the Empire's flagship CNC vessel had been working on coordinating efforts, and the Corrundians would know their capital city better than anyone. He wanted their input before his force committed to going into Turalanaray. MantasIRKTARAA new strike craft is developed, a variant on the Antler chassis that removes the atmospheric capability and boarding facilities and replaces them with the infrastructure for an oversize spinal mount. The Antler Type B design will carry an 80mm plasma pulse gun, facilitated by the decrease in armour and the less capable warp engine. With no crew or boarding parties to risk, the Type B is an expendable weapons platform built to use its single FTL charge to get in close to the target and do as much damage as possible before being destroyed. If the target is destroyed first, then the strike craft can be recovered. Once in production, the plan is for the Type Bs to make up half to 80% of Stag Raider Carriers' strike craft compliment, allowing the Type As to fight from range or take part in boarding actions. This should maximise the small Yakaro Defence Force's effectiveness by not having to put the Type As into roles they are not intended for.

Uncharted systems "east" of the Border Worlds.
The Third Carrier Task Force had deployed without any hitches. Their operations in the systems to explore would proceed as planned. Arriving, scouting, claiming viable, unoccupied planets, studying and surveying system resources and phenomena. Nothing out of the ordinary, no one to run into, at least not yet. Many felt, though, that if they looked far enough, they would eventually find someone or something else to talk to. Statistically speaking, given the Empire's fairly numerous list of alien contacts (though the number is small as far as numbers go, it is still a significant number of powers) this was likely to be the case.

[Marble]Isula did not look back as she pushed forward, away from the ruined citadel. As Minds, they were both near immortal; the death of a body could be unpleasant at times, but the whole would be spared the loss. Octavius' longing for his old existence created a mental limitation, and so as with many of the Old Minds, did each death scar him. If he wished to die again, she would not stop him. The Oncari were of little threat, yet by sheer mass did they become an obstacle. Though Seeker's Guardians felt hollow, they seemed to repel the Oncari, in spite of the death of their creator. This power had been the key to Seeker's resistance in the face of Sulaan's remaining loyal acolytes on Marble. Isula, in turn, used those she had enthralled to ward her command form from the metal hordes. The rest of her forces, unprotected, were mired in the chaos as the fractal machines turned their blades upon all in sight. Simultaneously, she fought off the waves assaulting her spacecraft. The ground burned and metal turned to vapor as the frigate's weapons were unleashed upon the berserk machines. So great was the disparity in power, that it was little more than custodial work for the War Mind. The acolytes' forces had been nearly depleted fighting Seeker, thus only their weakest remained. Still, some of the fractal machines acted with some order. Isula reached out to them, probing their patterns for a sign of their master. "Reclaimer, tame your pawns." "Apologies, Sister. With the Butcher's scream, Savant has fallen, and in the madness the patterns began to falter. What Titans remain lay siege to Savant's fortress, yet Savant has cast an eye towards your landing. Even under siege, Savant's wrath burns brightly." "Inform me when the fortifications have been pacified. The Butcher may land, and I would prefer to leave this cursed world before it has the chance to gain the upper hand." She pushed onward, using her pinned forces to open clearings where possible. She entered visual contact with her ship, its forward shield prominent over the horizon, when the Butcher spoke again. Little changed in the chaos, though she felt that Reclaimer's forces had withstood this message. There was something else, though. In an instant the landing zone was covered in smoke, leaving her blind for some moments. Her command form saw from the cloud clearly: a burning ship emerged, jets of vapor and debris erupting from it as Savant's beams struck the hull. Octavius' shuttle shot by overhead, shockwaves piercing the air as its mach number rose, climbing into the regime of hypersonic flight. "Ancestors..." Isula muttered, looking back towards Seeker's keep. The shuttle's fission engines glowed brightly, one shooting star speeding towards another. Atop the fortress, a madman smiled.
