Galactic Conquest: Renascere
Ceros 2175Space is still the deadly vacuum it has been. In the aftermath of the devastating Verion Campaign by the TSE a mere two years ago, most of the powers in the Verion cluster are left in ruins, industries collapsed in some cases beyond repair. The political scene was falling apart, growth of most states had come to a halt from the wounds left by the war. The one power to not have a near total collapse or come off harmed beyond foreseeable total recovery was the Malsuth. Seeing this, the civilian oversight staff on the United Universe Federation starbase Vendaris decided that it is time for a restart of the scene. It is simply unlikely that events of major interest will happen further within Verion, and after this conclusion is reached the entire galaxy finds itself brought back millions of years. In this new timeline created by the Federation, many familiar faces return and many are lost. The year is now 2162, and a rebirth comes to the Verion cluster. Year: 2162[Loading systems...] [...] [...] [Systems loaded.] [Accessing sheets database...] All sheets related to this program can be located here. [Loading Cluster Maps Section...] [Maps Loaded] The maps of every active region in Galactic Conquest can be located here. [Loading administrative section...] [Administrative section loaded.] [Loading rules...] --Thread Rules-- Rule Zero: What the Director and admins say goes. -1: Godmodding/Ubering is forbidden, doing so will result in being ignored and potentially banned from the thread. -2: Use Story Mode. No Chat style RPing. -3: "It's not in the rules" is not an excuse to do whatever you desire at any time. -4: Do not spam, troll, or post useless things (Such as "I like cheese"). -5: Do not tech-post (posting under four sentences of content when not in interaction with another player, just to obtain new technologies. Using posts unrelated to your faction to boost production and research counts also qualifies as tech-posting). -6: Arguing with the admins is not acceptable, period. If something you don't like happens, and the administration says "Too bad," then too bad, it happens. Debating is fine as long as said debate does not become a shouting match. -7: Threatening members, admins and the thread itself with hacking, physical harm, mental harm, etc. Is NOT acceptable, and WILL lead to a GC ban AND if carried out or GC has a strong knowledge it will be carried out, members of GC reporting said action to the necessary authorities. -8: Any technology deemed too powerful, efficient, or effective will be denied regardless of your scientific ability to create. Just because you can be creative does not mean your technology will be allowed, either. -9: Don't go overboard with romance/gore. Overboard will be determined by your forum ban, or by GC admins. In short, no explicit content/squick content. -10: Do not kill plots or storylines, and do not ruin plots or storylines for other players. If you do, instant-permaban is very likely to result from such action. -11: Do not harass members with the intent to drive them out of the thread. The most likely punishment for this is a permanent ban. -12: OOC prejudice may not be used as a reason for IC action. Only IC may be used for IC action except under very few circumstances which are dictated by the administration. -13: Balance over realism always, science may be bent if balance demands it. -14: Any administration member who violates a rule they are to be upholding will receive swift demotion from admin/mod status, and a temporary or even permanent ban from posting. -15: In special cases, the director may approve of bending or even ignoring a rule if need be. This is to be of somewhat rare occurrence. -16: You may not join the thread with a faction made up of humans, minor race or not. Doing so requires express approval from the Director and lore connections. -17: Total genocide of any race/faction requires owner/Director approval in order to avoid kicking someone from the thread. -18: Ragequitting during a war because you're losing is an instant permanent ban from GC. Don't do it. -19: No beginning research or construction on the same post as previous research or construction ends -20: Double posting is not permitted, wait for another person to post. --Roleplaying Guidelines/Information-- -1: All members start in the Ceros Galaxy's Verion Cluster or an adjacent sector unless otherwise approved. -2: Technologies are allowed to be submitted to the tech guides. -3: The UUF is not going to be surpassed technologically. -4: The series has a wiki, use it. Ask admins/active wiki-goers for info not found on the wiki's pages. -5: The starter system is capable of supporting a variety of different starting situations technology-wise and expansion wise. -6: There are a variety of different FTL types that exist and can be looked into, not all are available at a low tier. You decide which you use, and if none are chosen, you can create your own drive as long as you can propose pros and cons behind it, along with an explanation of function (Custom drives require approval) -7: High ESPER races and individuals require approval by Admins. -8: Newly submitted technologies must be approved by Admins. Do not start researching them before they are approved/before you are given a post count. -9: You are permitted to start with less technology than you are allowed to. If you want to use a lower tech race. Higher tech starts, however, require administration approval. -10: GC is a somewhat hard sci-fi RP with several soft elements, along with a tech tree that advances away from strict real world science over time. -11: If your CS is accepted, you have to start RPing with them within 50 pages, otherwise they will need to be accepted again. -12: The only sheets necessary at the start are the Star System, Planet, and Race. You decide your technology, whether they have a government or not, if you have a character, the ship sheets, etc. -13: If help is needed with the ship sheets, please request aid from a veteran member or the administration. -14: Members from before the move need to repost their sheets as needed. -15: GC is not purely empire control. Expect characters to take center stage of many plots. -16: It is HIGHLY requested you make something of your own when joining, it is very much frowned upon to use something from an established game/show/movie/etc -17: In joining, you may start with up to seventeen star systems. Up to fifty shipyards and one hundred ships are permitted as starting equipment. This line is prone to edits as needed. -18: While plot locks are easily broken by GM action, it is very much appreciated for a warning to be given ahead of time if you are leaving for an extended period of time so preparations can be made. -19: When deciding ESPER, you should have reasons for why if it is above two or three due to the balance issues that come with that being a racial average. In order to have a character with an ESPER over 6, it 'must' be asked on. -20: Factional Theme is more or less just a track to set the mood for your faction. This is not required for joining, however. -21: If your race is speaking in their own language, please provide a translation in brackets/parenthesis for the convenience of other RPers. -22: It is highly advised to use notepad or a similar program to store all that you have to reply to. -23: Factions start with 55 tech points at their disposal for their starting technologies, this number will go up as time goes on. -24: Each thread in GC is a span of approximately four years in IC time, threads are locked and moved to archive upon completion. -Wiki Link- galacticconquestroleplay.wikia.com/wiki/GalacticConquestRolePlay_Wiki------------------------------------------------------------ --Thread Administration-- >Director: Lord Kyle Deshara >Administrator: Pierre Bezukhov >Moderators: Sliprunner, Red Dwarf IV, Efelix ---------------------------------------------------------- --Credits-- Original creator of GC: Conmann35 Series background and management: Lord Kyle Deshara, Pierre Bezukhov Sheets: Collab of Des and most thread members; Ship Sheet by Pierre Bezukhov Ship/Station/Strike Craft Design Systems: Sliprunner Tech System: Lord Kyle Deshara and GC membership Starmap: RedDwarfIV

[At the main landing pat on Astrilla]
Chancellor Diablo Irtalma stepped out of the limousine and onto the sidewalk as his guards stood on either side, guns in hand. Diablo glanced at the street before setting off at a brisk pace towards the waiting C-249 Discovery, his guards following. Normally the C-249 would be getting ready to explore one of the systems on the edge of IAR space, but right now it was being used as a transport. Diablo was on his way to Wontalla in the Mirkal system to give a speech, he could have done it virtually, but it had been awhile since he had left Tronjal and he wanted to see for himself how Wontalla was progressing. More guards were waiting for Diablo as he approached the Corvette, he clicked his mandibles irritably as he climbed aboard, there were some disadvantages to being Chancellor, such as the guards everywhere and no real privacy.

-Black City on Kethend-
Luma was in the main chamber of the black city, a large room rigged with holographics to display everything that was going on. In the room a number of other leaders were present, they were all watching the orbital signatures. The first of many Isk Zhin gates was entering full operational status, the prototype testing having finally ended with this magnificent piece of technology. Luma grinned as she spoke aloud, "Today marks our future, Today marks when we have finally reached to the stars! What we'll find? I do not know, what I do know however is that today is when we finally can see the galaxy for what it is, no more probes to wait on or plans of Generation ships. Today we finally can say that not even the vacuum of space will deny us the stars!" Most of the others in the room didn't seem to pay much attention, though it was fairly obvious from the general shift in mood that they knew very well what was said. The ships in orbit already had their orders, it would be simple and straight forward for them now.
-Orbital Fleet- Four Isrum and a Tisolim rested in orbit, a defense fleet that had been rather high priority in development for them. The ships themselves though being a few years of age now though, additional ships having not been needed for some time. Part of more recent expansion though was two Isura, a Tisura and two Islara, banded together as a small group. The Shipyards and Tisura already working on a few new ships now that a Isk Zhin gate was in full operating conditions. There wasn't much to see in orbit itself though, the planet below having no cities to be seen from orbit, just the soft blue water and a few islands. The only structures in orbit itself were the shipyards and a single small station that served as home for the work crews of the shipyards.

[On board the C-249 Discovery]
Diablo sat back in his chair and folded his 4 arms as the Corvette's fusion drive started up. The Inertial Dampening system kept him from noticing very much change as the C-249 lifted from the planets surface and began picking up velocity. There was one window in the small ship and Diablo could see as the Corvette rose above the city and then into the clouds as it reached escape velocity. After a few minutes the Discovery shot out from the clouds and into low orbit, the pilot throttled down the Fusion Drive and began to adjust the ship's trajectory to achieve stable orbit. Diablo stopped paying attention at this point, he had been one of the first Arthans to actually use the Slipstream Drive, but that had been over fifty years ago. Diablo heard the slipstream engine power up, seconds later there was a flash of light that enveloped the whole ship as it entered FTL. Diablo glanced at his watch before adjusting his position in his chair. A few seconds later, relative to the crew, the Corvette dropped out of FTL above Wontalla, that was the slight disadvantage to FTL, the time dilation meant that while days passed for the rest of the universe, only a few seconds passed for those in FTL, but at least you didn't have to sit around in a ship for days or weeks on end.

-Orbital Fleet- The Two Isura, as directed by their captains, moved towards the gate. In just a few moments they crossed through the horizon of the gate, vanishing in a pulse of energy. For them it would seem as if they had simply moved from one place to another in the blink of an eye, regardless of the time that passed. Within a few moments though the clocks on board the vessels re synced to the proper time frame, barely a two day trip from where they had begun thanks to the Isk Zhin Gates. The system they entered was a rather dull one, prior expeditions knew the system to a degree. Just a pair of volcanic planets and a frozen rock, not even an asteroid belt to keep company, the interest was the same for them as they begun moving to the ice planet. Orders to setup a series of satellites in orbit to observe for any potential water currents on the otherwise frozen planet.

[On board the C-249 Discovery]
As the Corvette descended through the planet's atmosphere, Diablo went over the schedule in his head again. As soon as they landed he was to be escorted to the capital building on Wontalla where he would meet with the planet's council. After that he would be retiring to his quarters until the next day, then he would tour several of the main cities over the next few days before returning to Tronjal. He pulled himself out of his mental overview as the corvette's decelerators activated, a few seconds later the C-249 touched down on the landing pad. He got up as the doors opened and left the ship with his guards. As Diablo left the platform the C-249 Discovery powered back up its engines and rose from the landing pad, because of the extreme time dilation, there were enough supplies for awhile yet. It entered orbit before engaging its slipstream drive, on course for Orchak, it would take about a day and a half to reach the system, but for the crew it would only be a few seconds. From there it would head for one of the unexplored systems on the edge of IAR space.

[Planet Lacor, northern continent, city of Falcon's Point, 17:00 RST]
Paladin Jorin Greathammer walked through the vast chamber that served as an entryway to the shipyard complex. All these years, and his people were still designing buildings with vaulted ceilings and stained glass, but right now that mattered very little compared to his mission. Exiting the chamber, he navigated the by-now familiar corridors: left, right, left, left again, right, finally reaching the balcony overlooking the drydock complex. Down below he saw the Engineers loading up the last of the equipment and the personal belongings of his crew into a shuttle, before making his way to the shuttle scheduled to carry him and his senior staff to his new command: one of the new Destroyers, so he was told.
Arriving at the shuttle, he shuddered slightly as a tall figure in a black coat ducked under the doorframe behind him, one of the Wizards, assigned to his vessel to supervise the trip, a routine patrol of the outlying systems.

-Black City on Kethend- There was some slight shift in the activity of everyone in the central chamber. Exploring hap haphazardly was a very inefficient method for them due to the limits of the gates, this left them wondering where to try exploring first. Luma had already vouched her opinion on where to start long range expeditions. Though this was delayed until more gates could be manufactured, given they already needed to get a second gate out to a local system for the Isura deployed there to return. Throughout the chamber various charts were streamed everywhere, from simple star charts of visible stars to the various emissions reported being detected from those planets over time. Of course, it wasn't just the various officials there to decide, scientific heads were present as well trying to help determine a location.

[On board the C-249 Discovery]
Captain Arlan Olma had stopped at Orchak for a quick visit with his family who lived on the tropical planet of Thintar, but now he was back in the Corvette, in orbit over the planet. He had received a quantum entanglement message from Tronjal saying he was to explore as far out as he saw prudent, when the new C-249 was finished it would pick up Chancellor Diablo. Arlan started powering up the slipstream drive, he didn't have anyone with him on this voyage, his co-pilot was taking some leave time in the Tulak system, but he was fully capable of piloting the Corvette on his own, it wasn't like it was a frigate or one of the bigger ships the engineers on Astrila were planning to make. Once the Slipstream drive was powered up Arlan activated it, he squinted against the usual flash of bright light that signified that the ship was now in FTL, about 10 seconds later the C-249 dropped out of FTL. Arlan glanced at the quantum entanglement date meter, about 3 days had passed, the slipstream drive slowed down when it wasn't in normal traffic zones between systems so that was to be expected. Arlan started a full scan of the system with the usual protocol, it might have a habitable world, it might not, either way, Arlan would leave as soon as he had scanned the system and its planets after sending the data to Tronjal.

The shuttle latched onto the docking port and a few seconds later the doors opened into the corridors of the RNS Pathfinder. As the crew headed to their quarters to unpack, Jorin stepped onto the lift and headed to the bridge; a relatively massive room, roughly circular, with a high ceiling. A small plateau stood in the middle of the bridge with what was obviously the vessel's command chair. The Paladin felt another chill run down his spine and turned to see the Wizard from the shuttle enter the room. He surveyed the room briefly and then spoke, in a raspy, gravelly voice, "Perhaps you should order the crew to their stations?"
Jorin typed the appropriate command onto a keypad and within moments the bridge filled with officers, "Contact Command and signal ready, request permission to depart drydock."

The 4 C-205 Trishtak-Class Corvettes, and the C-249 Viala-Class Covette that were being worked on in the 5 orbital shipyards above Astrila have been finished, the C-205s have begun work on 4 new shipyards while the C-249 has been sent to Mirkal to pick up Chancellor Diablo. The shipyards have begun working on 2 more C-205s, 2 C-249s, and an F-347 Falrak-Class Frigate. The C-205s will be used in the construction of more shipyards once they are finished, and the C-249s will be sent out to explore more of the unknown reaches of space beyond the IAR border. Once it is finished, the F-347 will be sent out with the other freighters for trade between the worlds of the IAR.

-Black City on Kethend- After some time, its finally been determined where to explore once a gate is ready. A small group of stars a fair distance off, the decision was made based off emission reports from the stars. The general concept is these stars would be the best bet to find other races. This information is then relayed to the vessels in orbit, Two of the Isrum are prepared for deployment once the gate is ready. The Tisara in orbit alerts that another gate will be ready shortly, though it'll be some time before they can get a gate ready for an exploration party.

Arlan looked up from the book he was reading as a loud beep sounded from the computer, the Corvette had finished the scan of the system and it's planets, Arlan pulled up the scan results. The system was fairly standard, Yellow star, main sequence, with 4 planets and 2 large asteroid fields. Two of the planets were gas giants, another was too close to the sun, the average temperature was 300 degrees Fahrenheit, the 4th planet was small, about a fifth the size of Astrila, but it wasn't inhabitable, the average temperature was colder then Astrila, but not extremely so. A more detailed scan had shown that the planets atmosphere was breathable, but there wasn't much plant or animal life. It probably wouldn't do as a colony world, but it would work as a forward base for mining the asteroid fields, which the scans showed had large quantities of iron and nickel, they also appeared to have quite a few other useful materials. Arlan closed the file and pressed the button that sent it by Quantum Entanglement to Tronjal, they would decide from there what would become of the system.

A final burn put the the ship on trajectory for the first stop on the patrol, an uninhabited system designated KAS-003. Right now, most of the outlying systems were used solely for mining operations pending a planetary analysis team to determine if they had any habitable worlds. Jorin pressed a button on his command chair and spoke into an intercom, "Is the Warp Drive charged?" "Aye, sir," came the reply, "Engage on my mark," he turned to the navigation officer, "Course locked?" "Yes sir," he tapped the intercom again, "Mark."
The ship's main lighting system flickered out as the Warp Drive engaged, taking a massive chunk of the vessel's power supply. Within seconds, the auxiliary lighting had kicked in, filling the ship with a faint purple glow as it breached the universal speed limit.

The LTRS Tax Haven, the ship used as a home by a hundred thousand Qiisqex, had entered Ceros. It was ten kilometers long, and had been heavily modified to fit the Qiisqex's needs. Hardpoints for weapons had been used as areas to set up living space, and it's hangars had been converted into shipyards. It had five in total. It was escorted by ten other ships, most of it's escort fleet had been destroyed in the previous galaxy. The Tax Haven had traveled further into Ceros than just the rim towards a cluster that appeared old enough to have evolved life. The Qiisqex hoped to find a civilization that could repair the Tax Haven, or at least find one that would not bother them as they repaired it themselves.

The ship dropped out of warp, and the lighting thankfully had returned to normal, spending days surrounded by a purple glow was torturous sometimes. Jorin ordered the helm officer to establish a standard patrol pattern as the first sensor readings came in. Nothing anomalous, just the by-now standard crowd of civilian mining Corvettes scrounging among the asteroid belts for valuable ores. He glanced over his shoulder, the Wizard was still there, still in the same cloak, always, day after day.
"Sir, we're being contacted, some of the miners are reporting weapons fire on the far side of the system, some kind of territory dispute," he sighed, "Begin a burn to take us to that site, have weapons armed just in case."

The Corvette had just come out of FTL at the next system on the exploration list, Arlan started the scans and checked the Quantum Entanglement messages to see if any had been sent while he was in FTL, there was one, he was to return to Tronjal as soon after he had finished scanning this system and the next one on the list. Arlan sighed as he sat back in his chair, he had thought he'd be out here for at least 8 systems worth of scans, which would be almost a month for his family on Orchak, this way he would be gone about a week and a half, better then usual.

-Isura at B-491- The Isura in orbit of the ice planet were deploying satellites that had been loaded on board for this, rather then building the satellites on site. One by one they were being deployed to for a basic grid around the planet, it was expected to take at least a month before they'd have enough intel about geographical conditions. The crews of the Isura spending most of their time just casually goofing around in the holographic recreation room onboard, given most of the satellite deployment was automated. Just as they were about to begin a little competition event, after rigging the communications to relay data between the two recreation rooms, an alarm alerted the captains to something rather annoying. A number of the satellites were ceasing response to the network after they passed line of sight, a simple check confirmed that the planets ionosphere simply wasn't bouncing the signal like it should for communications.

Captain Arlan closed the messages file on the computer and sat back in his chair as the ship continued scanning the system. With all these planets and all the systems out there, it seemed impossible that there wasn't life out there somewhere. But then again, he had to consider the vastness of space, if there was intelligent life outside of the IAR, they probably wouldn't encounter it for years still. The chances of other intelligent life being even remotely close in such a huge galaxy, let alone the universe, was too low to even consider. Arlan cleared his head of thoughts of extraterrestrial life and opened his book back up and began to read.

[Kingdom of Athos]
[KAS-003, RNS Pathfinder, 09:15 RST]
Two mining barges came into view as the RNS Pathfinder approached and, sure enough, they were engaged in a firefight. Luckily, neither pilot were particularly good shots, so the only damage had been scuffed paint and a couple busted asteroids.
Jorin picked up the microphone for the comms, "Attention mining ships, this is the Royal Navy Ship Pathfinder. Hold your fire and explain your actions," he sat back, and sighed as the miners told their respective tales. Disputes like these were a dime a dozen these days, so-and-so finds a pretty hunk of ore that such-and-such wants for himself, and it escalates from shouting to shooting. He picked the mic back up, "It sounds to me that Mr. Conn has prior claim, Brother Gorwyn- I understand that the Church- No, Brother, I don't-" he sighed again as the Cleric's shells started whizzing past the ship, he couldn't even hit a Destroyer at point-blank range, "Lock a particle beam on his turret and engines, then contact Command to get a rescue ship out here." He stood and started to leave the Bridge, the ship's Captain was already in the chair when he turned, "Best call the Church too, I suspect that Brother Gorwyn will have some explaining to do," he said, then he stepped onto the lift.

[IAR]
[Status Report]
The 2 C-249s and the 2 C-205s have been finished, the C-205s are sent down for temporary storage on Astrila until such time as they are needed. However the 2 C-249s are sent out to begin exploring the systems in the immediate area around the IAR's space. It is unlikely that a planet will be selected for colonization soon though considering the current policy of Chancellor Diablo to fully develop the existing worlds before stretching the resources of the IAR farther then needed. According to Chancellor Diablo, there really isn't any hurry for colonizing large numbers of worlds, sure the raw materials could help the IAR, they can easily be retrieved from existing colony worlds and asteroid fields.

==Bashmeli's Hive== =Ringworld of Gilmar=
The pitter-patter of worker feet in the thick stone layer of the Ringworld would be to bring food up from the deep cellars, kept cold by the temperature regulators installed by the Hive. They would transport it to the thirty year old corvette stored in a stone-lined hangar just under the surface. Over the past thirty years the vessel had been fulfilling several different roles. First as housing as Hive was started and began digging into the base of its volcano, then as a stockpile in the time the Hive expanded itself underground to accommodate moving the vessel's cargo underground, then lying abandoned until the Hive Queen could devote the workers under the command of her Nobility to figure out what made the vessel tick.
However within the past year, breakthroughs were made on a massive scale. The vessel's nearly-dead power core was brought back online which allowed it just enough time to bring its automated systems on in order to activate the small fission reactor on the corvette. Its AI core was fried, but what it lacked in being able to explain their situation it gave back in its databanks. The primitive existence eked out by the Hive, both self-imposed and forced upon them, was brought to an end. The information given by the Corvette was brought into the collective knowledge of Gilmar Hive. The vessel was discovered to have knowledge on a variety of topics and a tractor beam, shooting the Hive forward easily a few hundred years in terms of mental and physical capability.

[IAR]
[Status Report]
The research development department on Astrila recently improved the yield capacity of current missile designs, allowing for more powerful weaponry. In a public statement several days ago, Chancellor Diablo stated that this advancement in missile technology would aid the growth of the IAR. He stated that it would provide security and prevent anyone thinking of rebellion from taking action. However, as soon as the work into the high yield charges was finished, he ordered that they begin looking into a different form of weapon, one that didn't rely on rockets, a more advanced version of the cannons of old.

==Bashmeli's Hive== =Ringworld of Gilmar=
The corvette would be loaded with supplies, enough to sustain the journey out to the Kuiper Belt in order to do some basic prospecting in order to allow for expansion of the Hive. The Hive would have basic industry below ground, easily on-par in terms of technology with 21st century factories. It was small, only big enough to support the few thousand Workers and Soldiers that Bashmeli had the Hive level off at in order to preserve their local resources. The hangar doors would open, exposing the corvette to the Ringworld's high noon sunlight. Its engines would activate once all the Workers had left the bay to seek shelter deeper underground to protect themselves from the drives. The steel blast doors would be sealed shut as the corvette launched itself upwards, correcting its nose to point to the sky as it left the Ringworld.
As it exited the atmosphere its crew would burn to the sun, using the vessel's computers to calculate their current orbit and correct themselves to be in between the Ringworld and the sun. Adjusting the orbital eccencricy in order to allow them to pass above and below the Ringworld the Workers crewing the corvette would begin the process the Hive recovered for activating the Hyperdrive. A loud whir would pass through the ship as it activated, sending them into hyperspace on their way to the Kuiper Belt.
