For everyone who likes PCs.
Post your specs, talk about components, upcoming technologies, your favorite PC games, cool peripherals, anything related to PCs.
I'll try to kick off some discussion with a question:
Anyone else built their own PC? I built mine last year. I'm going to give it some hefty upgrades this year (Hopefully at LEAST a new graphics card).

Built mine before christmas. Intel i3, Radeon HD 5450, 4GB DDR3 RAM, Two 256GB Hard Drives (Reusing Old Drives), basic LG DVD/CD Combi Drive. Gigabyte Motherboard and Corsair PSU. The HD 5450 is being swapped for a HD 6870 tomorrow.
Thing runs silent as anything. Two fans intaking air to keep the PC at 31 degrees, maxing out at an average of 35.

Nice. I have an Intel Core i5 3570k, which I just overclocked to 4 GHz. I've also got 8GB of DDR3, one 64GB Crucial M4 SSD, a 1TB HDD (Can't remember who makes it), a Sapphire 7850, an Asrock Extreme 4 Z77 Motherboard, and a PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk III 500 watt power supply.
I plan to do some upgrades at some point during this year, most likely with the graphics card. Might try and find a good deal on a 7950/7970 or maybe even a new R9 (Unlikely). Failing that I might consider buying a second 7850 for Crossfire.
I've also been looking at water cooling purely for aesthetic and fun purposes (Which come to think of it is the main reason I built my own PC in the first place. It could look badass and I'd have fun doing it), but it's really expensive to build a custom loop and the pre-made ones aren't as sexy.

Intel Core i5 3550 16gb DDR3 (1866hz) RAM Asus P8Z77-V LX motherboard 1TB HDD (that despite having for more then 2 years I've never used more then 500gb on) Nvidia Gforce GTX 760 (Recent upgrade from GTX 550-TI (2gb)) 22 inch samsung monitor
Normally runs about 30C during winter, 35C during summer (Bad ventilation in room) Overall works fine, except for the annoyance that is "New Drivers", because lord knows your machine shouldn't work right if you keep drivers up to date.

Gateway SX2855.
4GB of DDR3 RAM (hz unknown, should max this thing and take it to 8) Pentium G645 @2.9GHz 500gb HD Intel Onboard HD Graphics Stock keyboard and mouse AOC E2070S flatscreen @1600x900
It also has a massive Cooler Master fan for its size.
It's a small form factor and dead silent even when I'm straining it and staring at bucketloads of particle effects.
I actually have desk space now!

Don't diss it, onboard's pretty good for what it is. (I have no expansion slots, QQ) For what it is, yeah, but on a Pentium G the Onboard isn't all that amazing, though the Onboard on an i series is pretty beast. I'd recommend you buy a cheapo Gigabyte Motherboard and a HD5450. Together, that'll cost you about £40/$40. (No conversion here because computer parts are cheaper in America, probably only about $30 for you.) Hell, manage to save up $60 and you can probably get a Mobo and a far better graphics card like a 6xxx series or a 5870. But check before you try that. And don't try it until you know what you're doing with a PC when it comes to big swaps like that.

Oh yeah, update on my build.
Got the 6850 in no problems. It runs cool and quiet. CPU stays at 28 celsius, sometimes dips to 27, rarely jumps to 31, but may get to it under max load. Card runs at 38/39 idle. I've only seen it peak at 45 which ain't all that bad. Motherboard is 28 degrees. Hard drives like to run at 18 celsius and peak at like 22.
That's a system average of 30 degrees. Not half bad. I'm maxing like all my games no problem and I haven't seen myself dip below 30 fps once. Life is gud.

Also, I think I just found the sexiest motherboard ever (In my opinion): It's the Asus Maximus VI Formula. Wow.

See that motherboard I posted up there? That's old. Theres a sexier one now. This is the greatest thing I have ever seen. It's the Maximus VII Formula, for CPUs that need Z97.
