The reply from Latesi Interstellar went: "We apologize again: please remain patient. We will refer you to a regional office promptly. Perhaps you would like a free catalogue of Latesi Interstellar products, to peruse while you wait? Our selection of hot drinks is highly recommendable. Alternatively, if you are so inclined, we may consider purchasing your assistance in our current enterprise as an outside contractor."
"[TRAVELING/WANDERING/DISTANT/UNCHAINED] [TRIBE/COURT/FELLOWSHIP/KING] IN-THE-ACT-OF [OBSERVING/SEEKING/FINDING/COVETING/SLAYING]," went the other. Following this, the second group transmitted a grainy picture of a large tug with drive plumes like candles on a birthday cake, from which trail several kilometers of cable to the large geodesic structure it is in the act of towing. Two smaller craft come flying around the structure's bulk, rapidly unloading missiles against an off screen foe while deftly evading the few incoming kinetic slugs.

-Kushar- The Lorsis, a newly commissioned Fi'Zoris class Battleship, resided in position near the Ri'Thal star forts. The bridge was quiet as Lakaer moved onto it to observe it's differences compared to previous bridge design, the rather spacious spherical bridge left plenty of room for a larger crew, along with the fact that multiple holographic displays were integrated for tactical awareness. A bit of a grin was on the face of the soon to be captain at Lakaers side, Sikas, She just commented "It's a glorious ship is it not? A rather powerful vessel to command..." Lakaer just took a slight breath as the main holographic display in the center of the bridge slowly shifted along, displaying an overview of the ships capabilities, He finally said "It's a fair improvement from the current battleships in service, You should feel proud to be given this commission. Though it would be best to get your vessel prepared as soon as possible." Sikas just kept an almost snarled grin as she said "Oh? Why is that Sir? do you intend to send it out so soon?" Lakaer didn't even bother looking at her when he said "Yes...There is some matter of security that has been far to delayed" -Que- >Construction 2x Ta'Malr Farseer Platforms (80/175) 1x Ta'Malr Farseer Platform (26/175) 55x Black Sky Pattern Mining Outpost (2/45) 12x Sak'Harl Platforms (45/50) >Shipyards 30x Mak'Vara IV (2/51) [15 standard shipyards, 15 battleship shipyards] >Research Torpedo Design (21/45) Powered Armor units (11/30)

These Latesi fellows seemed really devoted to their business ventures. Putting two and two together meant the Task Force's thought processes realized what just might be the case with them. Again, it would be easy enough to deliver a message to them, seeing as their communications were fully translatable at this time.
"A regional office? Are you claiming some degree of sovereignty? At any rate, we are here for knowledge and exploratory aims, not sales pitches. We are well armed, but this is not our fight. We know nothing about the corporation or government you claim to be reclaiming assets for, besides your advertising."
A response to the identification request to the second group yielded more cryptic communications, and more for the underlying UNITRANS systems to document and process while the Task Force came up with a more readily available communique to send back to them.
"We observe and listen. Is this thing yours, or theirs?"

The Midyan forces rushing the CIC are immediately faced by the defense turrets popping out to shower them in a hellstorm of munitions, but the inevitable grenade jamming them thankfully comes very quick to prevent too many casualties on their side. In a massive stroke of luck - there truly is nobody and nothing left to stop their advance towards the ship's command center. All that's left of the defenders are already tied up, though as soon as the turrets are jammed, squads elsewhere can report some of the marines attempting to fall back to the CIC, so they don't have much time now. Beyond the door, even the less psionically capable marines are able to sense a strong psionic presence beyond the door - one that's currently watching them closely. As the door is blown open and they fling their flashbangs through, they are immediately met with accurate fire directly to their helmets, but it's only SMG fire it seems. Nobody seems to have been caught by the door, and everyone in the CIC is taking cover on the far side of the room behind consoles. They all seem to be an entirely different race from the grunts that are tying up the rest of the marines, but unlike the marines...they're all unarmored. The Midyan forces make short work of the still fairly-skilled defending officers in the command center of the battlecruiser, but not without having taken a siginificant amount of fire even through the blinding flashes. There are no traps present within the CIC after careful observation.
Pelendo
Kazitan lets out an embarrassed cough as he shakes his head and responds rather softly "Errr...yeah I think that's the only name I've given. We call ourselves the 'Granar', my home nation is the Republic of Tallisar." before pushing up out of the observation module again to settle against a wall of the station, arms crossed. "I'm not exactly the best person to talk to for diplomacy but then again, neither is the rest of the crew. From what I can hear on my earpiece, my nation's leaders are hoping to have you talk to someone they believe is qualified.", he wryly grins and adds "I can only imagine you'll be bored out of your mind once you actually have someone appointed to talk to."
Gasmon
The rather overdone introduction of the Midyan captain is almost immediately noted in the reply, saying "You wouldn't be entirely wrong to say you're getting closer to the core but one would think we were in an old opera with such a verbose declaration there. The empire's name is also not the Fenelis Empire; it's the Vedravian Empire. I'm fairly sure most civilizations are not named after their race. Our prosperity has nothing to do with the core though. We were one of the largest trade hubs in the empire's outer rim so we had more than enough infrastructure to keep ourselves from suffering too much from loss of contact. Did you learn anything about what caused our gate network to explode while making your way here?"
Gheriak
"That'd be more understandable then. Still a surprise they went for such large slips to start with." comments the AI while watching the starmap closely. "It still astounds me that your race managed to get this far from your home without knowing about any of the equipment that is fairly standard to much of the galaxy or even all that many encounters with other life. I know full well that there are other civilizations along this route. What made you skip along all the way to this cluster?"
Omedari
The base instantly responds inquisitively "What is the identity of the power that had sent you here?" while holding the ship steady in the tractor beam, not allowing the Nalsim any movement while the craft is scanned thoroughly.

"We stopped using multiple currency forms in the Federation almost a hundred years ago." Fredrin said, "All our worlds use Federation Credits, a government backed currency, its value was originally based off of a gold standard but any fluctuation in its value since then has been directly from the Federation Treasury. Although there are bills in circulation, credits are usually stored and transferred digitally, this does make some interplanetary interactions take some time as the more complicated and secure interactions are usually done through computers on board trade vessels as they travel from system to system."

With the announcement that the battlecruiser's CIC has been cleansed of heretics, and removal of their vile psychic presence, the Midyan forces give a cheer. The Zealot's possibly disorganized abandonment of their positions with the deaths of their commanders being seen as an opportunity to be exploited, emboldened marine squads begin to give chase, locally coordinating to envelope and overrun isolated foes from multiple angles where possible, and suppressing them where not. Meanwhile, with no risk of self-destruction, the priests of war were now free to sow fear and doubt among the enemy, while those in the CIC took positions so as to set up overlapping fields of fire from behind what protection was available, checked their ammunition, and prepared for an intense firefight with the Zealots coming to take their hard-earned ground.

A shipping company gaining sovereignty over an area of space. Thinking on it, it wasn't too far fetched a possibility. They clearly had the means, and if they had the determination they could make a corporate state out of it. Between Imperial rule and the merchant republics an Imperial Corporation would never be able to do such a thing, but experience showed that rules seldom applied entirely to aliens.
Aliens whose warp engines put out an expected amount of energy on par with similarly known methods of FTL transit. Following the completion of their communication, a response was quickly prepared.
"Between ourselves we use a unified standard of credit with recognized value throughout our territory. However arbitrary funds have not seen much use in dealing with other races and instead using reserves of precious metals, or bartering directly for materials seem to have been trading means perfected by our merchants. Information on space would be useful to us both, we foresee. "
As for the enigmatic ones, their imagery still held little which would click by the translation software or the intuition of communications staff. UNITRANS seemed to be getting more meaning out of their speech; no doubt further samples would help.
"Besides initial curiosity we have no interest in this "providence engine" seeing as we have only known of it for as long as we have been here. What importance does it hold to you... and them? "

As the Magnara forces of 30 frigates bore down on the Regrinor 25 frigate strong fleet, bolts of energy began flying through the gap between them, impacting shields on both sides as lasers began burning through endurance of the shielding. Several shields would quickly collapse on both sides, energized particle bolts impacting the hulls of the frigates. Within 2 minutes of the engagement, however, 14 more frigates dropped out of hyperspace, reserve RCR ships which had been waiting in the shadow of one of Regrinor's moons.

They transmit video of three destroyers lancing out with plasma, which splashes against the shield of an aggressively close heavy area defense craft keeping pace with its nuclear pulse drive, and missiles, which are gunned down in quick succession shortly after launch by aforementioned area defense craft. The quickly changing perspective of the camera indicates that it's mounted on a rapidly moving and accelerating platform engaged with the destroyers. The three destroyers take heavy fire from all sides and, after they are thoroughly swiss-cheesed, the view changes to show the freighter tugging the desired "Engine of Providence" being chased by and exchanging light fire with two other ships, these ones also riding nuclear explosions for propulsion.
The Corrundians would detect a subspace blip in time with the sudden appearance of a battlecruiser, which quickly begins dumping its missile racks at the pursuers. The transmission continues with several more minutes of combat footage as the scattered squadrons comprising the two fleets jockey for local fire superiority and the capture/protection of the station-size 'Engine'.

Nuclear pulse engines. The Empire toyed with such a concept, the Task Force crews noted, but it had lost favor as the fusion reactor was perfected and the ability to vent fusion plasma as drive thrust was discovered and refined to the level of the tried and trusted post-Sleeper design gas core engines, which proved to be a much more reliable option for continued-thrust operations. In regards to the footage being transmitted to them, and also the ongoing battle, the Task Force dutifully observed. On the side, they were noting the various configurations and attack patterns of both sides' combatant craft, and placing some sort of identity on each of them.

Horra
[Stag/lock break]
As the combined forces of the coalition advance on the center of the city, they find extreme resistance in the form of numerous rocket artillery batteries, numerous SPGs, and a couple tank columns attempting to hold the line against the heavy equipment of the approaching forces - along with thousands upon thousands of troops covering from entrenched positions within the buildings. The corvette support from the IFFS/IAR prong of the assault prove to be incredibly useful for hunting the artillery positions from afar - though the crews constantly find themselves spooked by what equipment keeps getting aimed at them whenever they approach the city closely. The advancing forces of the IFFS have the most luck with clearing out infantry from the buildings due to psionic support, though the killboxes scattered everywhere prove to be a nightmare for them as well. The steady advance of the coalition's forces is an incessant grind of attrition eased only by the timely orbital support clearing out any particularly heavy resistance, the support of the Arkedeerian troops does prove a blessing for the coalition's manpower in this fight though. Upon nearing the palace, some survivors of the massacre in the once-grand city find themselves flung from a window almost right atop a few LAN forces, surely horrifying whatever soldier, the batteries that had been threatening the corvettes are found - a pair of mobile missile batteries with quad cell launchers. With how large the trucks are, its a wonder that they could hide, let alone maneuver in the streets! The launchers are quickly disposed of but the palace itself seems to have a shield dome protecting it from ranged attacks, beyond which seems to lie the remainder of the defenders. The support of the corvettes finally comes into play again, their guns offering a way to take out the shields before any desperate last-minute tools of the Khaersites can be deployed. With the shield down, the forces have an easy time demolishing what is left of the defenders outside the palace - the inside becomes a battlefield itself, but there are too few forces left for the Khaersites to fend off the attack. In the aftermath, attempts to mop up other Khaersite forces on the planet face little difficulty - in clearing out the palace, they must have decapitated the entire occupation force.

->Taskforce Uo'u<-
Orii picked up his handset and growled into it, rage pumping through his veins and dripping off of every word he spoke. "Captain Euin, if that Thing escapes, I will personally feed you to the thrashers. Am I understood?"
"Yes, sir. Stop. The net has been cast, here. Stop," the rear admiral forced out with practiced formality. You're slow, he thought bitterly. You should've given the order to box them in at least 20 minutes ago.
"Good. Orii out."
The [Justicar] and the Oiouhouru raced onward, over-eagerly. 90cm guns sang in gently thrumming pulses as they attempted to reach out far beyond their accurate ranges. Anxiety flared up like fever across the taskforce as ranges continued to shorten. Every spark of the occasional hit on target brought a measure of encouragement that was much needed, but not nearly strong enough to wrestle the fear of the Invader's beam of destruction. 8,000km and closing.

Horra.
With the Imperial Palace in hand, Imperial Rule could finally return to Horra after about six grueling months of occupation and exile. The greatest of the fighting planet-side was over, as Marshal Shazirath's CIC concluded. With a secure foothold, it was time to bring the people to action. A message was broadcast to any and all who could hear it to take up arms, break the chains of the invader and remove them from beloved Horra! Surely the remaining pockets of invasion forces would try to retain some futile hold but at this point the skies and soil were against them. The Liberation was at hand -- eternal Horra would become and henceforth always be free!
At any rate, with the aid of Coalition forces there would be no shortage of Corrundians poised to achieve this end. If not directly in the fight due to injuries, starvation or whatever other tortures they endured, at least in spirit -- no one would be bowing to the Zealots anytime soon after the propaganda blitz.

-Horra- "Commander? Word from the ground forces that the palace is properly secured" was the announcement on the bridge of the Hosom, Kasik would take a slight breath of relief. This deployment had turned into far more then he had expected when they had set out, He gave call "Relay to the corrundians..." communications gave quick signal channel was open before Kasik continued "Given the nature of the situation, I would like to at least offer a measure of assistance in ground efforts. To that extent, I can offer, if you are willing, to allow any troops who so desire to stay and work in helping recover matters here..." He paused slightly before finishing with the additional statement "We will remain for a while, just for handling of salvage rights, oversee initial stabilization of affairs, and prepare our vessels for the trip home." -Que- >Construction 2x Ta'Malr Farseer Platforms (85/175) 1x Ta'Malr Farseer Platform (31/175) 55x Black Sky Pattern Mining Outpost (7/45) 12x Sak'Harl Platforms (50/50) [Completed!] >Shipyards 30x Mak'Vara IV (7/51) [15 standard shipyards, 15 battleship shipyards] >Research Torpedo Design (26/45) Powered Armor units (16/30)

Energy barriers are now an engineering problem, and the LAN has examples of the technology to work with. TURALANARAY, HORRA SURFACE (NINE HOURS BEFORE LIBERATION)The first to arrive in the city were the AFVs, scouting ahead and reporting spotted enemies back to command. This allowed the next wave to be sent in - IFVs and MBTs. The IFVs would carry troops to fight enemy infantry and act in a support role, while the MBTs protected the IFVs from enemy tanks. Said tanks opened fire almost as soon as their LAN counterparts appeared, getting mobility kills on several MBTs and totally wrecking another while they have the element of surprise. But once the shock and awe passes, the LAN MBTs are able to take harsh revenge. The losses of armour mount up on both sides, but the Zealot tanks' chemical rifles are outmatched in power and rate of fire by the LAN's coilguns. The Zealots could have routed and posed more difficulty by having their tanks sneak around the battlefield, but true to their name they hold fast until no more of their battle tanks remain in the part of the city that MOC Groundforce is moving into. The unprotected AFVs and any other armour the Zealots might have are now easily dispatched by their powerful cannons, leaving this a fight between Zealot infantry and Groundforce's combined arms. The battlehovercraft locate stretches of open ground and wide boulevards or highways that they are capable of traversing to move into the city, while the troops complete their march to the front line. Soon, the battle is truly joined. MantasHKZ-008 RELENTLESS, ÆO AURUSeveral of the hits from the nearby destroyers had caused some serious damage. A radiator had been shattered, a propellant tank punctured and now engine nascelle D had taken a hit that would have been fatal to the system on any other Manta vessel. But Relentless was a Hunter-Killer, fitted with engine redundancies that had the nascelle functioning again within a minute or so. The opposite nascelle's engine had to be shut off so as not to unbalance the thrust, losing the vessel some acceleration. That increased the cruisers' closing velocity. "Cruisers now passing 8,000KM." reported the sensor officer, and the weapons officer acknowledged. Working with the navigator, he brought the nose to its new heading - aiming for the cruiser that was assumed to be the enemy's command vessel. Being a cruiser, it would likely have thicker armour, making it a harder kill. Cara'Fal just had to hope that 8,000KM would be far out enough to give them the time to do enough damage, or possibly drive the enemy to break off their charge.
