Marea nodded slowly as she finished her water, tucking the mug carefully away into her rucksack. "I was taught not to steal..." she huffed in justification, before looking up at Kalrin. "You could ask the Merchants. They always know what's going on, even if they don't say, because they've got to know, for business. You... might have to make it 'worth their while', but they will tell you if you give them something they want in exchange. I... actually think one of them might make it worth our while if we hijack a rival's shipment, there's always little feuds like that going on amongst merchants. It's healthy, it creates competition and you get the big big merchant clans, guilds and companies because of it." she offered. Thieving, fighting, and roguish tendencies were not her speciality, but merchants and their kin were right within her ballpark.

Sliding the beer over to Kalrin I shake my head slightly "No, not going to finish that", taking the two gold pieces and pocketing them. Looking to Marea, I continue "Hit the merchants though? could work I suppose, not my specialty though, so if you got an idea how to talk with them that might work. Regardless, I think we got enough ideas, we need to decide what we're actually going to do however. So what all are the opinions? trying to coax money from the merchants seems like the safest option, but might not pay as much. going for the bounties might earn a bit but it sure as well won't be safe. Then there's just snooping around for someplace we can steal from...which is probably mid ground depending on where we hit"

"If you think we can get something out of those thieving scumbags, maybe we should start there. It'll probably be the quickest thing to do, and then at least we know where we stand. Besides that," I look eagerly towards my newest drink "I'm still not drunk enough to throw my life away in some fight in the forest yet. Though I might be soon if drinks keep falling into my lap this easily."

Marea chewed at her lip, shifting uneasily. "Well, I'm used to talking to merchants, my family is a merchant family, but I don't know if threatening any merchant would be a good idea, legally..." she admitted. "Though, under the guise of working for a merchant, we could convince him to let us loose on his rivals, or on people who have stolen from him in past..."

I shake my head in irritation at the response from Riznar, a fight can't be good? What a laughable idea... I listen to Marea's suggestion and comment "Dealing with the rivalries among the merchants can pay off if they send us after a valuable shipment. Even if they don't pay us anything, we'd still have the shipment. Legal matters aren't quite what we're worried about, but that does sound good." I look at Riznar again before I continue talking "Personally I still would rather go for the bandits, if not that...going after the merchants is a good start." I say, agreeing with Kalrin.

Riznar just gave a nod of his head, getting up from his seat. "Well, sense we're more or less in agreement on swindling merchants, at least that's the only idea we seem to agree on, Lets just get to it. For the moment, lets just head out, see what merchants there are around here, then pick our target" turning to look Delatoth in the eyes, and continuing "And try to see if you can get an idea of who might have stockpiles we could hit later" With that, Riznar just went over to the bar to pay his tab.

Riznar, having regrouped with the others after doing a bit of information snooping, said rather simply "Didn't get much, I am fairly aware of a rivalry between two merchants though. Might give us a good target to start with, One's guild protected so that means free game on the other" Riznar just rubbed his right ear slightly, feeling like he could still hear that one person he ran into. ~I swear, I'll never understand how humans manage to babble so much without saying anything useful~

I shrug "I warned you guys. They only speak two things, coin and prestige and we don't really have much of either. Did you at least find a way to identify the merchant guild members from everybody else?"

"Just check for a glyph, thats best I can remember. Regardless, that merchant you snagged coin from before is direct competition for a guild protected merchant, my opinion thats reason enough to swindle him for every last coin he's got. I'd snoop around to find out what I can about him but I'm not exactly the best at that...Marea, I got a feeling its on you to learn what you can from him directly" Riznar just glaned towards Marea, hoping she'd be up for the task.

This thread has been killed by inactivity. I will repost it with stricter rules for characters after we've garnered enough interested players in the new Collab thread.
I'm sorry. It just wasn't working out with the current rules.
