The Ytnok's shields are battered. It has two arrays left, the second at 19%. Both of the Order ships fire all of their weapons at the Reef-class, although the Ytnok aims 5 of its lasers at the damaged Storm-class, specifically targeting its radiators.

A burst of energy from the sun draw Nalmerk's attention for a moment, the Riktar, had just entered the system as part of its scouting route. Somewhat surprised to find the Crescent Sun there, though quickly brought up to speed simply by sensor information relay. The Riktar quickly moves to take position near the Crescent Sun, Nalmerk himself still unsure how to deal with the situation, though the Riktar is standing by to observe the situation as well.

The Ytnok sends a message back to the Order, informing them of the destruction of one of the frigates and the hostilities of the Midyans. This news does not help with the Celae's paranoia regarding carbon based life, to say the least. They don't plan to let this happen again, though.

Parts of the damaged Storm-class's radiator arrays begin to melt off. Most of the radiators are still functional. The Reef's armor melts further, now only having about 4 meters of effective armor. Railgun fire penetrates 3 - 3.5 meters. The Reef-class and Storm-class once again fire upon the Ytnok, hoping to bring it's shields down this time. Since the damaged Storm-class has not yet used up all of it's missiles, it fires the remaining 6 at the Ytnok so that they do not overheat and detonate inside of it.

The Ytnok's shields are brought down. Its 2 meter thick armor begins to absorb blows now. The two ships combined still had a total of 47 PD turrets, however one of the missiles gets through and takes out several projected shields with its explosion. Fire continues on the Reef-class, with ALL weapons being focused on it now. The two vessels begin the ten minute charging process of their Rip Drives, hoping to hold out until then. The Ytnok diverts all power from its engines to its shields, hoping to recharge them sooner to avoid hull damage.

The Reef-class activated it's auxillary fission reactor, to provide more power to trying to get the shields back up. Armor had further liquified to 3 meters of effective protection, and a few railgun shots nearly penetrated the hull. The first layer of shields were able to get up to 15%. All of the Celestial Federation vessels, including the fleeing Storm-class, fired at the Ytnok. The damaged Storm-class fired one of it's 120cm guns, hoping to hit the Ytnok even from the great distance.

The Ytnok suffers several hull breaches, and damage to its primary fusion reactor. The auxiliary reactor is brought online to help support the failing primary one. The Rip Drive was 50% charged now. The Ytnok and remaining Partisan class fire everything at the Reef-class, concentrating fire on one single spot in center of the ship.

The Reef-class suffers hull breaches, but no vital areas were hit. Due to fear of damaging reactor containment, the Reef-class only fires both of it's 120cm railguns and 5 of it's 60cm railguns. The other Storm-class frigate is nearly unharmed compared to it. It fires all of it's railguns at the Ytnok and moves into a course that will put it infront of the Reef-class to help shield it.

The Ytnok's shields had come back up to 11%, and absorb some of the railgun rounds. A 120cm shell penetrates though, going through the armor and causing a severe hull breach. Several sections of the ship need to be sealed off. The Partisan-class's shield projectors come back up, or at least some of them, to help shield the Ytnok from more attacks. The Ytnok and frigate both fire on the Reef-class again, aiming for the area near its engines, hoping to damage something important. The Rip Drives are 73% charged.

Due to the nature of the Reef-class's propulsion, the weapons would not be able to detonate any of the nuclear charges used as fuel. The mechanism that deployed the charges was damaged though. The Reef-class was effectively immobilized, as a charge that wasn't deployed straight could cause damage to the Reef-class. The Reef-class fires both of it's 120cm guns at the Ytnok once again, while the Storm-class fires it's 120cm guns at the Partisan-class. The Storm-class also fires the rest of it's guns at the Ytnok.

The Partisan blocks most of the shots, but a few get through to the Ytnok and cause more damage. Two of its shield arrays are disabled, and two of its Particle Beams are as well. The ships concentrate their fire on the center of the Reef again, while continuing to charge their Rip Drives, which are now at 89%.

The Reef-class begins to lower it's reactor temperature and it extends a radiator array to try to deal with overheating. It goes ahead and unloads all of it's weapons upon the Ytnok. The Storm-class fires all of it's guns at the Ytnok, finally moving in the path of fire to the Reef-class. The Reef-class gets several more hull-breaches, which the crew works to seal.

The Ytnok targets the radiators with all of its lasers and particle beams, while hitting the Reef-class again with its plasma weapons and railguns. The Rip Drives are fully charged now. The Ytnok sustains more damage, and its primary reactor needs to be shut down. The Partisan class frigate is mostly unscathed, having only 49% shields remaining. It activates its engines and begins heading towards the Reef-class, the Ytnok giving it covering fire while it supports itself with its single remaining shield projector.

The Crescent Sun begun to approach the scene, keeping shields raised. Weapons weren't armed just yet though, Nalmerk had seen enough to gauge the effective range of the more dangerous weapons. He could tell at this point that both sides had dome a fair bit of damage to each other, enough so he felt it worth the risk to move in and see if he could get them to stop shooting at each other. If anything, just to find out what caused the firefight. The Riktar followed alongside, shields raised to full and weapons on standby.

The Crescent Sun is detected by the Ytnok, but it is not acknowledge for the ship had far more pressing concerns, such as getting out of there alive. It diverts all power from weapons to shields, hoping to charge them up enough to survive Ripspace.

In attempt to save the Reef-class from total destruction, the crew of the Reef-class diverts power from the fusion reactor and auxiliary reactor to it's warp drive. The Reef-class, coming in to combat from an orbital drydock, had some charge in it's drive and it would not take as long as it would to charge it from a cold state. They only need enough power for a short jump out of harm's way.
The Storm-class frigate began a course to intercept the Partisan-class, firing all of it's weapons at it.

The frigate's shields are dropped and it begins to take damage to its armor and hull. It fires its weapons at the Reef-class, hoping to slow its warp charging. The Ytnok fires off a last volley at the Reef, and opens a Ripspace Rupture, its shields strong enough to protect the crew from the radiation now. It enters the Rupture and it snaps closed. The ship is safe in Ripspace, heading back to Karea for emergency repairs. The frigate, though, remains, its drive still holding the charge.

The Reef-class slowed it's warp charging even further, extending the rest of it's radiator arrays to help cooling it down. Several crewmembers had died from the heat. The Storm-class fires at the Partisan-class.

Changing its course, the Partisan instead heads for the Storm-class. It takes a lot of damage, but its Rip Drive remains functional. That's all that matters. It gets within 200 kilometers of the Storm-class, and activates its Rip Drive. The Ripspace Rupture forms inside of the Storm-class, right down the middle. The energy currents from the rupture lash out at the two halves of the Storm-class, further annihilating them. The Partisan itself enters the Rupture within a few seconds and the Rupture collapses. Unfortunately, the frigate had no shields. The crew would quickly die of radiation poisoning, and as the drive began to malfunction the ship would be torn apart slowly.

The Crescent Sun maintained course, the Riktar holding steady near it. They were set on a course that would bring them near the fight, though not directly into it. though the two ships were still a fair distance out. Though at current rate, they'd be in firing range in a few moments if things came to it. Noticing however the one ship had retreated through some sort of energy rupture, it was somewhat clear that the battle would be over by the time they arrived. Nalmerk though wondering just how in the world to try and open conversation with either party.

The Ytnok arrives home. A few moments later, the frigate does too. Well, what's left of it. It comes out of the Rupture in 7 pieces of various sizes, and a few hundred more fragments. Enraged at the deaths of over a hundred officers of the Celaen Order and the loss of two ships, Ordinator Senil is tempted to begin planning the extermination of the Midyans. Calming down, though, he realizes that at present, the Order is not equipped for a full-scale war against a species so resistant to their weapons. Ships will be manufactured and changes will be made to the fleet, including the introduction of a new class of frigate specializing in kinetic weapons. In the meantime, though, he decides it'd probably be best to try and patch relations up as best they can. They'll wait for the Midyans to "cool down" first, literally and figuratively.

The Reef-class uses it's warp drive to jump closer into Xochima's orbit. An orbital tug will take it to a shipyard, where it can be repaired along with the damaged Storm-class frigate. Interest is shown towards the remains of the Partisan-class that was still in the system, as some of it's energy weapons may still be salvageable. A ship is design to act as a counter to Order ships, heavily armored and carrying energy weapons to deal with their shields. Thought is put into a ship with heavy shielding, in case the Order comes back with more kinetic weapons.

There was very little left of the frigate. It had been hit by the Temoto's wreckage, perforated by railguns, and consumed by plasma from the inside. The weapons had been thoroughly melted, though some of the heat resistant bits of the plasma cannons still remained.

The Crescent Sun finally approaches on course to enter Xochima's orbit, having lowered the projector shields and four of the shield arrays, Nalmerk wasn't to afraid now of getting close seeing that the one side had left completely. Though he did feel quite a bit alarmed that the apparent aggressors had no problems with just ramming another ship from what he could tell. The Riktar just pulled off, heading off slightly to investigate the rest of the system.

Nonetheless, a tug was sent to retrieve what was left of the Partisan-class. The Crescent Sun had been on Celestial Federation sensors for a while, but it had been ignored due to the battle with the Order. Another Minnow-class patrol boat, the Nixoch, was sent to contact the Crescent Sun. It tried to find a radio frequency that would allow it communication with the Crescent Sun.
