I am rather crudely attempting to get the community to weigh in on a Rule the Waves game, realistically this probably is going to be a very slow going event as while it's quick to run through the game, getting input from you all will slow it down.
I have already established the country, and run through the first year just to get things rolling, as such I am making the first report of current affairs. Bellow is the map relevant to us.
Beyond this is the current Almanac
So I shall now elaborate on the current situation.
4 Battleships of the Kilkis class
8 Heavy Cruisers of the Rhodes Class, with 4 more under construction
8 Light Cruisers of the Spetsai Class
12 Destroyers of the Argonaut Class
31 Minesweepers of the Aspis Class
Additionally we have 9 9" Shore batteries along the coast of Greece and Albania (Which our country spans over), and due to an odd quirk, it seems only us and Austria-Hungary have access to oil of the competing nations.
The current situation is as such
Tensions with Spain are heating
Tensions with France, Germany, and Byzantium are present
Tensions with Italy and Spain are cool
Over the course of the first year, We have developed the following advancements (Owing to our massive 20% of year research budget)
Improved Surface Condenser: 1% weight savings on machinery
Krupp Armor: 1% weight savings on armor
Coincidence Rangefinder: Gradual accuracy improvement
Hydraulic Recoil: Gradual ROF improvement
Heavy Secondary Battery: Secondaries larger then 7" Allowed
Current research priorities are
Machinery Development - Medium
Armor Development - Medium
Hull Construction - Medium
Fire Control - High (We have research advantage here)
Subdivision and Damage Control - High (We also have research advantage here)
Turrets and Gun Mountings - High
Ship Design - High
AP Projectiles - Medium
Light forces and Torpedo Warfare - Low
Torpedo Technology - Low
Submarines - N/A (Disabled this playthrough)
ASW Technology - N/A (Disabled this playthrough)
Explosive Shells - Medium
Fleet Tactics - Medium
Naval Guns - Low
Currently developed naval guns are
Currently speaking we have effectively zero intel on enemy warships except for their armament, thus intel reports as following for favored armaments.
So the overall report is as follows
We have the least number of Pre-Dreadnoughts, both by number and tonnage.
Tensions are heated with Spain, they are angered after our government slighted them in a political deal.
We are the only ones building Mine Sweepers
Italy and Byzantine are largest threats in our home waters
In 8 months we will have an additional 4 Rhodes class constructed
Our Dockyards are 4,000 tons larger then anyone else.
We are locked in the Mediterranean by Spain and Byzantium
We lack fleet bases in any region other then the Mediterranean
Finally reports from various experts stated as following
The Kilkis class has an immunity zone just 5000 yards from currently operated guns
The Rhodes class carries the largest guns of any heavy cruiser
The Spetsai class currently holds the highest trial speed record of a cruiser
The Argonaut class is considered the slowest destroyer currently in service
The Aspis class is considered wasted money by other nations
With all of these reports, and the initial preview done, Now comes the part where you can weigh in, if you need ideas of what kind of suggestions to push on this.
What should our primary focus for the coming year be?
What should we do about the state of our navy compared to others?
Should we try to pressure our neighboring nations?
Is our research budget/focus thought out?
Should we expand our dockyards?
Note: This will advance pretty much whenever I feel there's been enough input, or if a day's gone by. I will generally try to push in either 6 or 12 months increments, exceptions are wars in which case I may slow down to a month by month report.
