Its been brought to my attention that the horrific nightmare that is the mechanics thread is in need of revision. So there's a few things to cover, including the poll having an obvious question.
The first and foremost: Unit costs.
Currently unit costs/production time was determined off the old system, which was determined by a previous incarnation, which was determined off a convoluted chart system, which was determined off god knows what. I would GLADLY enjoy hearing people voice their opinions on how unit costs/production time should be.
Second: Unit Quality.
While the Unit Quality does a little to represent the technological state of the equipment in question, it doesn't fully represent the changes in cost. As was suggested to me, the Pre-War quality should be used as the baseline, with costs increasing in a linear scale to mid war, then move on to a quadratic scale. the example is as follows, is there other suggestions to handling it?
Prewar = 1/3rd cost
Earlywar = 2/3rd cost
Midwar = baseline cost
Latewar = 2x cost
Postwar = 4x cost
Third: Structure system.
Yes...its a nightmare, please give input on how to fix, suggestions of much welcome!
Fourth and final: Infantry training.
Currently the replenishment of infantry is very stupid and not entirely usable, how would you suggest the handling for infantry recruitment be?
-EDIT-
Fifth thing I forgot: Ships
Naval vessels are very odd to consider in supply costs, as each ship design had its own more unique requirements. As such, and with suggestions courtesy of our angry peasants, a possible revision may be required. What are peoples opinions on how to handle such? Here is an example idea. THIS IS AN EXAMPLE IDEA, I DID NOT EVALUATE ANY OF THESE VALUES, THIS WILL NOT BE USED.
-Naval Supply System-
Airship Variant (final result x1.2)
Submersible (final result x1.4)
-Per hour of submergence: +100 supply
Per Floatplane ship supports: +10 supply
Per Light aircraft ship supports: +20 supply (Light: Anything a dirt airfield can support)
Per Heavy aircraft ship supports: +40 supply (Heavy: Anything smaller then a super-heavy bomber)
Per Airship the ship supports: +80 supply (NOT airship variant ships, standard airships)
Per Gun
Per Torpedo tube
Per Depth Charge Launcher
Per 2.5 knots Speed: +100 supply
Per 100km Fuel Range: +50 supply
Per Armor Face
