Matthias and the rest of the company pulled into town not long after Jarak. He noticed the damage on both sides. "...You were right Jarak, no IL-2 or Stuka pilot would've done this," he said grimly over the radio. Matthias were perplexed to say the least. The British or Americans wouldn't have done this. A lieutenant gestured for his tank to pull up. Matthias did so and popped out of his cupola. "What the hell is going on down here?" he asked the officer. "I was hoping you knew, sir," he responded. "Just as we were about to finish up the Russian panzers some kind of aircraft came over and fired at both us and the Russians," he added. "I've seen this aircraft. It was some kind of rocket plane and it took out 4 of my tanks," he told the lieutenant. He nodded, "Yes that's the one!"
"Any word from command here?" Matthias asked. "No. We're just getting static right now," the lieutenant responded. "And you say this aircraft fired indiscriminately?" Matthias asked again. "That's correct," the officer replied. That troubled Matthias greatly, but then again maybe it was friendly fire. He didn't know Britain had any jets. If they had the Luftwaffe would've had a lot more trouble west. Americans weren't in Russia to his knowledge. But it had to be them, who else could it be? It gave Matthias a headache trying to think about it.

Jarak had his tank stopped completely at this point, Otto had the engine running idle as Jarak just listened on the radio for anything. Kurt giving a slight comment "Well, this is the easiest raid thus far" Henri responding "Tell that to those guy's that got blown up back there" Kurt just muttered "I'm just glad it wasn't us" Jarak shushed them both as Felix tuned the radio, trying to pick up on anything, considering he didn't want to stop until they at least saw a russian roaming out there.

Around this time a motorcycle drove into town. Matthias guessed it was part of the recon attachment of a company. It stopped by his panzer and the driver waved to Matthias. "Sir! I was doing some recon south of here and I spotted some panzers! They aren't T-34's or KVs! They also aren't ours and are heading here!" he said. "Calm down schützen, how many were there?" he asked. The recon soldier took a deep breath, "There were eight heavy tanks and six lighter tanks, APC's I think!" he replied. "Alright, tell the other commanders, there are units that got here before us," Matthias replied. "Yes sir," then the man saluted and said "Heil Hitler!" and then drove off.
Matthias swore, "Konrad, the mouth piece," he ordered. The radioman in question passed it to him after a few setting changes. "We have incoming armor from the south. Take up positions at the river. I thought I saw some good hull-down positions back there. Assume they are hostiles, I'll tell you if I think otherwise," he said into the radio. Matthias handed the mouthpiece to Konrad.

Jarak rolled his eyes at that order, stating to Otto "Bring us to the position, but be ready to fall back to the buildings. Last thing I want is to be trusting this turret armor to keep my face intact" The panzer moved towards position, He said over the radio "I'm telling you now, I'd rather not hull down near the river, if they come around on a flank we're going to get torn apart with our backs to the guns" Kurt grumbled as he said "Don't complain, we're getting to shoot something" Jarak muttered "Hopefully we won't get shot as well"

Matthias pulled out his map and looked over the Izyum area. "On second thought, take up positions in the town overlooking the main road. We won't have good firing lines from the river," he said over the radio. He said that after realizing his error, as Jarak pointed out. The company moved and found positions that overlooked the town. As they did that infantry were positioned in the now empty Russian trenches facing the south. After that they only had to wait.
After everyone was in position they didn't have long to wait. Matthias spotted heavy and light panzers. The heavy ones looked like fearsome battle tanks. The lighter ones had smaller turrets that were positioned near to the front. Before long a commander opened the hatch to look around. What emerged was not a human. It looked like.... a lizard. Matthias' first thought was that he was going insane. He rubbed his eyes and looked again. Maybe it wasn't a figment of his imagination.

Jarak was quick to have his panzer pulled in position, Kurt watching rather carefully through the sight for something to appear. Jarak muttered "Load Panzergranate 40, I want to make sure the first shot gets through" Henri gave a nod, switching the loaded shell. While waiting Kurt just kept giving ever so slight adjustments to his sight. Watching the Tanks coming forth he just gave a grin, waiting as he watched. Finally once a commander popped out, Jarak gave the command "Hit the coupla"
Kurt gave a nod, the turret being handcranked to be as precice as possible. Kurt took a breath, helt it, then fired. The cannon giving a loud boom as it recoiled, launching the shell straight towards the coupla. Henri wasting no time as he begun loading another shell almost the split second recoil cleared.

The shell did hit the cupola. The lizard tank commander was no longer in one piece. He was now all over the top of the tank. Afterwards the whole company open fired. Two of the APCs were burning. One of the tanks was burning due to a hit in the side. The tracks were knocked off another. The other rounds bounced, unfortunately. The crew were bailing out of the burning one and infantry started disembarking from the APCs. Machine guns on some of the German panzer open fired. The infantry also started shooting. The Lizard infantry skittered into cover or went prone and returned fire with automatic rifles. The Lizard panzer that had lost the commander started to flee. The rest of the Lizard armor returned fire. Matthias cringed as a turret was knocked off a Panzer IV. Another Panzer IV was hit and started burning but the crew bailed.

Jarak watched for a moment, Kurt firing another round only to have it bounce rather harmlessly off a heavy. Jarak gave call "Load HE, 2 Degree's down and over, Viewport, Blind em" Henri shoved a High explosive round into the chamber, the turret hand cranked again before firing. Jarak saw rather clearly one of the tanks turning a gun towards his panzer, he shouted to otto "Buildings now!" The engine grinding for a moment before throwing in reverse, darting backwards behind a building that they had taken position near. It wasn't much for cover but it at least blocked line of sight. Felix said over the radio "AP bounces on front, Advise"

"Try hitting them on the sides or rear if possible. If you can't then try to take out the treads," Matthias advised. He noticed one of the Lizard panzers turning to him. "Building, now!" he shouted. Frank put the tank into reverse behind a building. Other panzers in the company were now peeking out and taking pot shots. Another lizard panzer is tracked. The lizard panzers WERE heavily armored, but like human tanks, the treads were a weak point. After a moment he said, "Forward." The panzer inched forward, "Fire at will, AP," Matthias said. Fritz aimed at the first target he saw and the panzer rocked as the long 76mm fired. The shot bounced off the turret of an enemy panzer. Fritz didn't need to be told to back up. As they did so, an enemy round streaked past and exploded behind where Matthias' tank was moments before.

Jarak waited a moment, listening to the sounds of guns firing. He then tapped Otto's shoulder, the Panzer peeking out from around the building, Kurt wasted no time as he took aim. Firing a shell directly at the driver viewport of a tank, otto then full reversing the panzer right behind the building again. Jarak muttered "little to fast, couldn't verify hit" Otto gave a nod. Another HE round was loaded before they darted out again, no sooner did the front clear the building though did a shell strike. The crew being jostled around as the shell skidded across the front, leaving a notable trench on the frontal armor though thankfully at an angle not to penetrate the front. Kurt just took aim and fired at what he could only hope was the gunner sight. The panzer pulling back almost immediately.

The first HE shot did hit, though not on the viewport. The lizard crew was jostled around though. The second HE shell did hit a sight and the tank was blinded. One of the enemy tanks fires an HE shell at the building Jarak's panzer was behind. Matthias' tank inches forward and fires a shot the same tank Jarak blinded. Fortunately the shot got a lucky hit between the turret and the hull. The tank starts retreating, the turret presumably damaged. Meanwhile, the enemy APCs were engaging the German infantry. The machine gunners get slowly picked off one by one. Though, their sacrifice wasn't in vain. The Lizard infantry still had their heads down.
One of the German tanks were hit as they peeked out from a building. It started burning and the crew were bailing out. An MG on a lizard tank cuts them down. Not long after that, the drone of an aircraft engine is heard. Matthias looks up from his cupola and spots it. It was an IL-2 flying low. "Never thought I'd be happy to see the Red air force," Matthias remarks. The IL-2 fires its cannon and rockets at the Lizards. An enemy tank is disabled and an APC was burning. The IL-2 starts climbing and a building obscures it. Matthias hears an explosion and the IL-2's engine cuts out. Another explosion signified the plane's end.

Jarak shudders as he feels part of the building collapse on the tank from the HE rounds. more then thankful that it wasn't his tank that got hit, he gave a tap to Otto who turned the Panzer. Another AP shell was loaded as Jarak muttered "Now", the Engine gave several clanks and grinds as it abruptly shifted from reverse to full forward. Bursting through the building, Kurt firing the round at the commanders coupla of one of the panzers. The suspension nearly buckled under the stress as the transmission grinded, all the same Jarak's panzer rolled forward, darting behind another building. Jarak tapped Felix on the shoulder with two finger's, felix shouting over the radio "Moving for Flank" as Their panzer begun moving to try and come at the side of the hostile tanks.

The tank with the damaged turret flees the battle. The crews of the tanks that were tracked were repairing the broken tracks. The fully operational tanks were defending them and not acting that offensively. The crew of the tank Jarak shot was jostled, but other than that not much damage was inflicted. It returned fire and missed, but not by much. "Roger, we'll cover," Matthias replied over the radio. "Johannes! Go for their other flank! The rest of us will distract them!" he added. "Ja, I'll try sir," the other commander responded.
"Forward," Matthias ordered. Frank did as he was told. Fritz picked a target and fired. It bounced off one of the Lizard's panzers, but doing damage wasn't the point. Another German panzer fired afterwards, but it missed. The panzer was then hit and the crew had to bail. It wasn't part of Matthias' company, but he hoped they escaped nonetheless.

Jarak's panzer darted out from behind cover, the engine roaring to full life as it was pushed to full. Taking a few moments to accelerate as the turret was turned, Jarak gave a shout "LOAD AP! HOLD FIRE!" Henri loaded the shell in moments, Jarak assisting. Jarak held his hand up, waiting for the right moment. Kurt just watched through the sight, heart racing. It took them but a few scarce moments to finally reach the amount of clearance that was wanted. Jarak swung his hand down as he gave Otto a tap with his boot, the Panzer jerking as the Breaks were slammed on, Turning the tank to a 30 degree angle towards the Lizards tanks. The gun adjusted and a round was sent flying at the side of the panzer on the left, Otto at once slamming the engine into gear again to start moving. Trying to maneuver to get behind them, this however, leaving them exposed for the moment with no cover.

(I'm assuming it's autoaccept for the character sheets. If not, please tell me off.) The Lancaster hummed as it flew over the countryside. "I don't like this." Matthew remarks, looking around. "We're sortieing in broad daylight. What exactly is going on?" He asked Daniel. He shook his head. "I wish I knew more. But the radio chatter is...well, I know how it sounds, but they're talking about aliens." Bert scoffed. "No, seriously, what is this about?" Daniel sighed. "Apparently earlier today they detonated some big explosives in the atmosphere and started an invasion across the entire freaking planet. Our forces are coordinating with not only the allies, but the Emperor and the Fuhrer too. Italy's gone dark, and we haven't heard if something's happened there or not." Jack messed with his hair. "Hey, shithead, how about you tell us what's actually going on!" He shouted back. "You think I'm kidding? Try listening to the thing yourself!" He shouted back. As the plane started to devolve into a big shouting match Matthew screamed. "ENOUGH!" The plane fell silent. "Christ. Pull yourselves together! Until we get further word, we're going with the radio." The silence continued for a few minutes after that until the radio buzzed. "Romeo One, come in." A voice crackled with a thick Russian accent. Daniel looked back at the others before answering. "Yeah, we're here. Who is this?" He asked. The rest of the crew were surprised to hear from a Russian. "This is Lieutenant Colonel Schein of the Soviet Air Force. We understand you are close to a small settlement near a river, yes?" Daniel rubbed his eyes before responding with evident concern. "Mmhmm. Why do you need to know?" "Because some type of force has destroyed our tanks there, and only a few men still remain hiding. One of our aircraft sent to assist reported seeing Panzers doing battle with some kind of advanced hostile force before we lost contact. We request that you help destroy this force before they move across the river." The plane's atmosphere took on a whole new feeling. "You want us to help the Germans?" Daniel, shocked, replied. "Yes. We have no other option. This force taking the territory we desire could cause some serious problems. And our governments are talking of calling off the entire war. I know, it is madness, yes indeed. But it needs to happen. Over and out." The radio went silent. The crew looked at each other. Matthew sighed and took a turn. Bert wiped the sweat off his forehead and readied his hand on the bomb release, and his other with the binoculars. "I swear I'm going to hell for this one."
